As we prepare for the first day of school emotions are EVERYWHERE.
As a teacher and momma, I get it! We are excited to get our kids back on a schedule. We are sad we ALL have to get back on a schedule. We are super sad the clock is going so fast. And, we are relieved that we don’t need to be the kid’s cruise director anymore. And that's just the adults! Our kids are just as overwhelmed. They have excitement, fear, pride, sadness...you name it they feel it on the weeks leading up to school.
One of the biggest fears for kids is “Will my teacher like me?/ Will my teacher be nice?”
Makes total sense. This is a pretty intense relationship. Our kids will spend everyday with their teacher for 10 months! So to ease a little stress, here is a freebie to ensure a “first impression” your child feels great about. Our Nice to Meet You Letter! This letter allows you child to think about exactly what they want their teacher to know about them and present it in their own voice.
Print this letter and support you child in filling in the blanks. Have your child give this to their teacher on the first day of school. Remember to let your child take the lead on this one, sometimes what they want to share is very different than what you might have!
